Since the end of 2017, 3d-berlin’s digital wayfinding system has been helping visitors find their way around the UKE grounds. Via info touch screens in the foyer of the main building (O10) and in the Children’s UKE (O45/O47), visitors can navigate their way to individual rooms and to entrances of other buildings on the grounds. Using QR codes on analog stelae and site maps, visitors can scan their current location and get step-by-step directions to any destination on their smartphones. Keyword searches make it easier to find destinations. Integrated on the UKE website, patients and visitors can get an overview from home, search for destinations and even print out the routes. In June 2021, the project was migrated from Flash to HTML5 and equipped with a modern user interface.
“3d-berlin convinced with professional competence in technological questions as well as in the areas of visitor guidance. The diverse range of solutions covers the spectrum of our requirements. We are full of hope that we will be able to help our visitors more optimally in the near future.”
