With over 4,300 employees, the Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital is the largest hospital in the Mittlerer Oberrhein region and serves as a teaching hospital for the University of Freiburg. In addition to a wide range of services, the hospital has been offering its employees, patients and visitors a digital 3D wayfinding system since April 2017, which helps them find their way around the large premises. They can search for clinics, wards or outpatient clinics, among other things. After selecting the destination, the user can view the route in three dimensions from a bird’s eye view. The application is available in German, English, French and Turkish.
